Somebody did the old "paint with sunblock" trick on Sue Ellen, maybe not intentional but it worked nonetheless. These stickers were attached and subsequently removed (together with rad multi-color racing stripes) some time ago. Some of them had the right kind of transclucency, leaving their mark as the paint fades in the sun. Hopefully the marks will disappear when our paint reconditioning is finished (the bum is the only place untouched, finally).
The stickers are barely recognizable by the naked eye in sunlight, but shooting individual photos and doing some contrast & sharpening worked magic! Now we can tell that the ole van has been around a few places in northern Sweden - which is where we bought it, no big reveal there. These have an old touch though (no english, just Swedish, and they're comparatively small). There were more stickers which left just outlines, but we'll presume previous owners took pride in riding their bus around the bigger and lesser sights of Sweden, adding to the collection.
