When it comes to historic buildings, it's seems like I've got a Midas' touch; at the moment I'm aware of their existence they're just about to be demolished with nothing left but a gilded memory. And I'm not talking phony castles or anything with no relation to people of today – the things that matter are modernist architecture and industrial heritage locations. Monuments of past progress, of a kind that we're only just beginning to appreciate as belonging to a bygone time.

Jag verkar ha en kung midas-förmåga när det gäller historiska byggnader; så fort jag får nys om dem så är de på väg att rivas och förvandlas till gyllene minnen. Och då menar jag inte slott och sådant trams, utan modernistisk arkitektur och industriminnen. Byggnadsminnen av den typen som vi bara, just nu, så smått börjar förstå tillhör den förra epoken. Senast hände det med Palast der Republik i Berlin, bara fundamentet fanns kvar när jag blev varse om dess existens 2008.

I started making a top 100 of songs I liked but soon realized that less than half, if even that much, was actual 00s stuff, the rest being 80s or late 70s music. And the same goes when only counting songs I heard for the first time during the 00s.
